Rolling in Dough Biscuits
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 tablespoons baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup butter or margarine
1 (16 ounce) carton sour cream
3 cups (12 ounces) shredded Cheddar cheese
2 jalapeno peppers, seeded and diced
Combine first 4 ingredients in a large bowl; cut in butter with a pastry blender
until mixture is crumbly. Add sour cream, Cheddar cheese and peppers, stirring
until dry ingredients are moistened. Turn dough out onto a floured surface,
and knead 3 or 4 times. Roll dough to 1/2-inch thickness. Cut with a 4-inch
round cutter. Place on a lightly greased baking sheet. Bake at 425 degrees F
for 15 minutes.
Makes 1 dozen.
