Kiwi Cherry Bread
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup soft shortening
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup cooked kiwi, drained and chopped
- 1/4 cup kiwi juice
- 1/2 cup green candied cherries, halved
- 2 1/2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
- 3 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease and flour* a 9 x 5 inch loaf pan.
- Beat together sugar, shortening and eggs until well blended.
- Stir in kiwi, juice and cherries.
- Sift dry ingredients; blend into kiwi mixture.
- Turn into prepared pan.
- Bake for 1 hour or until done.
- Cool in pan 5 minutes, then turn out on rack to complete cooling.
Notes
* For best results, use our Pan Release!
This bread slices better the second day.
