Orange French Toast

Yield: 6 servings

Ingredients

  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 12 slices French bread
  • 6 tablespoons butter

Instructions

  1. In advance, beat eggs in a shallow bowl with orange juice, sugar and salt. Dip bread into mixture, coating both sides. Place on baking sheet and freeze just until firm.
  2. Remove bread from freezer, wrap well and return to freezer, until you wish to serve it.
  3. Before serving, place bread slices in well-buttered shallow baking pan.
  4. Heat oven to 500 degrees F. Melt butter and drizzle over bread. Bake for 5 minutes.
  5. Turn and bake until golden, about 5 minutes more.
