Orange Oven-Baked French Toast
Ingredients
French Toast
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon, divided
- 4 eggs
- 2/3 cup orange juice
- 1/3 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon grated orange peel
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 8 slices bread
- 2 tablespoons confectioners' sugar mixed with 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
Cinnamon-Honey Butter
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
Instructions
French Toast
- Heat oven to 400 degrees F. Grease a 15 x 10 x 1 inch baking dish.
- Combine butter, honey and 1 teaspoon cinnamon in small bowl, mix well. Pour into prepared baking dish.
- Beat eggs. Add orange juice, milk, sugar, orange peel, salt and remaining 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon. Dip bread into egg mixture and place on butter mixture. Pour any remaining egg on bread.
- Bake for 10 minutes.
- Flip over each bread slice. Bake an additional 10 minutes or until golden brown.
- Sprinkle with spiced confectioners' sugar and serve with cinnamon-honey butter.
Cinnamon-Honey Butter
- Combine all and beat until creamy.
- Serve at room temperature.
