Caramel Nut Pound Cake

Ingredients

Cake

  • 4 sticks butter
  • 1 box brown sugar
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 5 eggs
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1 cup chopped nuts

Glaze

  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Confectioners' sugar

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 325 degrees F. Grease well and flour* a Bundt pan.

Cake

  1. Cream first 3 ingredients.
  2. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  3. Combine dry ingredients and add alternating with milk and vanilla extract.
  4. Put 2/3 batter into prepared pan.
  5. Add mixture of 1/4 cup sugar, cinnamon and chopped nuts.
  6. Cover with remaining batter.
  7. Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes.

Glaze

  1. Boil butter, milk and sugar for 1 minute. Add vanilla extract and enough confectioners' sugar to make a glaze.
