Oatmeal Carmelitas

Oatmeal Carmelitas recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 cups self-rising flour*
  • 2 cups old-fashioned oats
  • 1 1/2 cups packed dark brown sugar
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) butter, melted
  • 2 (14 ounce) cans dulce de leche

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 9 x 13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, stir together self-rising flour, oats, brown sugar and butter until well blended.
  3. Pat half of the mixture into the bottom of the prepared pan.
  4. Spread all of the caramel sauce over the top of the oat mixture until evenly covered. Sprinkle the remaining crumb mixture over the top.
  5. Bake for 30 minutes, or until lightly browned.
  6. Let cool before cutting and serving so the caramel will firm up.
