Rich Chocolate Brownies

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 squares unsweetened chocolate
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 ripe banana, well mashed
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup broken walnut meats

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees F (325 degrees F if using a glass pan). Spray an 8 inch square baking pan with Pam or cooking oil.
  2. Combine flour and salt in a small bowl. Set aside.
  3. Melt butter and unsweetened chocolate in a small pan on low heat. Cool to room temperature.
  4. In a large bowl, beat eggs, sugar and vanilla extract.
  5. Add mashed banana.
  6. Stir in chocolate mixture.
  7. Gradually sift and stir in flour mixture.
  8. Add chocolate chips and walnuts.
  9. Pour into the prepared baking pan.
  10. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes.
