Sheet Pan Brownies

Ingredients

  • 1 small box instant chocolate pudding
  • 1 (18.25 ounce) box chocolate cake mix*
  • 1 (12 ounce) package semisweet chocolate chips
  • 2 cups milk

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 15 x 10 inch jellyroll pan.
  2. Prepare the pudding as directed on package.
  3. Immediately add the cake mix (powder) it will be thick.
  4. Stir in the chips.
  5. Spread batter in prepared pan.
  6. Bake for 25 minutes.
  7. Cool, then sprinkle with confectioners' sugar or frost with chocolate icing, if desired.

Notes

* 18.25 ounce boxes of cake mix have been replaced by 16.5 ounce and 15.25 ounce boxes. To compensate for the volume loss in a 16 ounce box, whisk 6 tablespoons all-purpose flour into the dry cake mix before proceeding with the recipe. To compensate for the volume loss in a 15.25 ounce box, add 1/2 cup + 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour and 1/4 teaspoon baking powder.
