Brownies For A Crowd

Ingredients
Brownies
- 1/2 cup regular margarine
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 (16 ounce) can chocolate syrup (1 1/2 cups)
- 1 cup + 1 teaspoon sifted all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
Icing
- 6 teaspoons regular margarine
- 6 teaspoons milk
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
Brownies
- Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease well a 15 1/2 x 10 inch jellyroll pan.
- Beat margarine with sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in eggs, two at a time; add vanilla extract; mix well. Stir in chocolate syrup.
- Sift together flour, baking power and salt. Stir into chocolate mixture. Add nuts. Pour into prepared pan and spread evenly.
- Bake for 22 to 25 minutes or until slight Imprint remains when touched lightly.
Icing
- Combine margarine, milk and sugar in saucepan. Stir to mix. Bring to a boil and boil 30 seconds.
- Add chocolate chips; stir until mixture thickens slightly and cools.
- Stir in vanilla extract. Spread over cooled brownies; cut into squares.
