Linda's Fruity Popcorn Balls

These popcorn balls are delicious. Use Jell-O colors to match the season!

Fruity Popcorn Balls

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter
  • 1 (10 1/2 ounce) package miniature marshmallows
  • 1 small box Jell-O, any flavor desired
  • 3 quarts (12 cups) popped popcorn

Instructions

  1. Place popcorn in a large bowl.
  2. In a double boiler, melt butter, then add marshmallows and stir until marshmallows are puffed.
  3. Stir in gelatin until well blended.
  4. Pour marshmallow mixture over popcorn; mix lightly until evenly coated.
  5. Shape into 16 (2 inch) balls or other shapes with greased or moistened hands.
  6. Wrap each ball in plastic wrap. If using these for an occasion, place the popcorn ball on a square piece of wrap, bring all the sides up to the top and tie with a ribbon.

Notes

Nuts may be added, if desired.
