Chianti Granita
Ingredients
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 1/2 cups water
- 2 cups Chianti (or other dry red wine)
- 1/3 cup fresh orange juice
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 1 cup fresh strawberries, quartered
- 1/2 cup fresh raspberries
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients except the berries in a large saucepan and boil for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
- Freeze overnight.
- Shave.
- Divide berries among 8 dessert dishes; top each with 1 cup granita.
- Serve immediately.
