Pampered Chef Recipes

Chianti Granita

1 cup granulated sugar
2 1/2 cups water
2 cups Chianti (or other dry red wine)
1/3 cup fresh orange juice
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
1 cup fresh strawberries, quartered
1/2 cup fresh raspberries

Combine all ingredients except the berries in a large saucepan and boil for 1 minute, stirring constantly. Freeze overnight.

Shave. Divide berries among 8 dessert dishes; top each with 1 cup granita. Serve immediately.
