Old School Spaghetti

Old School Spaghetti

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium yellow onion, diced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (if needed)
  • 1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1/2 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • Cooked spaghetti for serving
  • Shredded Parmesan cheese for garnish, if desired

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add ground beef and chopped onion, adding a little olive oil if needed. Cook until brown. Drain excess grease.
  2. Add tomato sauce, tomato paste, Italian seasoning, dried basil, garlic powder, salt and pepper, red pepper flakes, Worcestershire sauce, sugar, minced garlic and beef broth. Mix ingredients together and bring to a boil.
  3. Reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes.
  4. Add cooked spaghetti to the sauce and thoroughly mix all together.
  5. Serve each plate with some shredded Parmesan cheese on top for garnish, if desired.
