Potato and Salmon Dog Food

Quick and easy homemade dog for with only 8 ingredients! This salmon and Idaho® potato dog food is sure to be a hit with your pup.

Yield: 4 cups

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup water
  • 11 ounces Idaho® Russet potatoes, peeled and diced (about 2 potatoes)
  • 1 large carrot, peeled and grated
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil
  • 1/2 cup egg whites
  • 1 cup chopped spinach, packed
  • 8 ounces salmon, raw or canned
  • 1/3 cup canned pumpkin

Instructions

  1. Heat a heavy-bottom pan over medium heat. Add water and diced Idaho® potatoes. Cover pot and let potatoes simmer for 8 to 10 minutes until they have softened.
  2. Uncover and add grated carrot and coconut oil. Stir to combine and cook for 2 to 3 minutes. Move potatoes and carrots to one side of the pot.
  3. Add egg whites and let cook for 4 to 5 minutes until set. Use a wooden spoon to break into small pieces, then stir to combine with potatoes and carrots.
  4. Add spinach and salmon and stir to combine. Cover the pot and cook for an additional 7 to 8 minutes until salmon is cooked.
  5. Stir in canned pumpkin and remove from heat. Set aside to cool slightly before feeding to your pup.

Notes

Leftover food can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
