Chocolate Chess Pie
Ingredients
- 1 (9 inch) pie shell, unbaked
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 3 tablespoons cocoa
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 2 eggs, slightly beaten
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1 (5.33 ounce) can evaporated milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 to 3/4 cup chopped pecans (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare unbaked pie shell.
- Mix sugar, cocoa and butter. Stir well.
- Add eggs and beat with electric mixer for 2 1/2 minutes.
- Add salt, milk and vanilla extract.
- Stir in pecans, if desired.
- Pour filling into pie shell.
- Bake at 350 degrees F for 35 to 45 minutes.
