Chocolate Silk Pie

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter (no substitute)
  • 3/4 cup confectioners' sugar, sifted
  • 2 (1 ounce) squares cooking chocolate, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 eggs, cold
  • 1 (9 inch) pie shell, baked
  • 1 cup heavy cream, whipped

Instructions

  1. Cream butter.
  2. Add sugar. Beat until light and smooth.
  3. Add melted chocolate and vanilla extract. Beat until smooth.
  4. Add eggs one at a time; beat 5 minutes after each addition.
  5. Pour into baked pie shell.
  6. Chill in refrigerator until set.
  7. Top with whipped cream or Dream Whip.
