Candied Sweet Potatoes

Ingredients

  • 6 boiled sweet potatoes
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • Miniature marshmallows
  • Pecans

Instructions

  1. Wash and pare potatoes. Cook for 10 minutes in boiling, salted water.
  2. Drain; cut in halves lengthwise and put into a buttered pan.
  3. Make a syrup by boiling the sugar and water for 3 minutes.
  4. Add butter. Baste potatoes with syrup.
  5. Bake slowly at 300 degrees F until tender.
  6. Sprinkle with mini marshmallows and pecans, and broil or bake until marshmallows are golden.
