Scalloped Sweet Potatoes and Apples
Yield: 6 to 8 servings
Ingredients
- 6 medium sweet potatoes
- 1 1/2 cups sliced apple
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 1 teaspoon mace
Instructions
- Boil sweet potatoes until tender.
- Slice sweet potatoes 1/4 inch thick.
- Butter a baking dish and put a layer of sweet potatoes in bottom, then a layer of apples.
- Sprinkle with sugar, salt and mace, then dot with butter.
- Repeat until the dish is filled, having the top layer of apples.
- Bake at 350 degrees F for about 50 minutes.
