Gourmet Toffee Mix

Yield: 3 1/2 pounds

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) REAL butter
  • 21/4 cups firmly packed brown sugar (1 pound)
  • 1/2 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 51/2 cups (6 ounces) Crispix cereal
  • 51/2 cups (6 ounces) Rice Chex cereal
  • 7 cups (6 ounces) Corn Chex
  • 1 pound salted mixed nuts

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 250 degrees F.
  2. Mix butter, brown sugar, corn syrup and vanilla extract in saucepan over medium-high heat. Bring to a boil for 5 minutes.
  3. Mix cereals and nuts together in a roasting pan. Pour syrup over mixture. Mix well. Pour into large roasting pan.
  4. Bake for 1 hour.
  5. Spread on wax paper to cool. Break up pieces as needed.
  6. Store in an airtight container.
