Pink Valentine Frosting
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons shortening
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 4 cups confectioners' sugar
- 9 tablespoons scalded cream
- Red food coloring
Instructions
- Combine shortening, butter, vanilla extract, almond extract and salt; blend. Beat in 1/2 cup of the confectioners' sugar.
- Add hot cream alternately with remaining sugar, beating well after each addition. Add only enough cream to make a good spreading consistency.
- Add a few drops of red coloring to tint frosting a delicate pink.
