  • 6 sticks cinnamon
  • 16 whole cloves
  • 1 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups cranberry juice
  • 1 large or 2 small cans frozen apple juice concentrate, diluted (6 cups)
  • 1 teaspoon bitters
  • 1/4 cup rum (optional)


  1. Tie spices together in a cloth bag.
  2. Combine sugar, juices and bitters. Simmer together for 10 minutes, then remove spice bag.
  3. Serve hot.

Serves 8.

You may add rum before serving.

This can be made for a large group in a 30-cup electric percolator with the spices placed in the basket. Use the same amount of spices and multiply the recipe times four.
