Spiced Lemonade



  • 1 cup sugar syrup
  • 12 whole cloves
  • 1 stick cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 cups lemon juice
  • 1 quart water
  • Crushed ice


  1. Put sugar syrup, cloves and cinnamon in a small saucepan and simmer together for 5 minutes.
  2. Add lemon juice and let stand for one hour.
  3. Strain and combine with the water in a pitcher. Stir, and pour into tumblers over crushed ice.

Makes about 12 servings.
