Basic Corn Bread
Ingredients
- 1 1/4 cups yellow cornmeal
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 eggs, lightly beaten
- 1 1/4 cups milk
Instructions
- Mix dry ingredients.
- Add remaining ingredients and stir just until mixed (will probably still be lumpy).
- Pour into a greased cast iron skillet and bake at 400 degrees F for 25 minutes.
