Melt in Your Mouth Strawberry-Cream Cheese Biscuits


  • 3 cups Original Bisquick mix
  • 2 teaspoons grated orange peel
  • 3/4 cup orange juice
  • 3 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons strawberry preserves
  • Granulated sugar, if desired


  1. Heat oven to 450 degrees F.
  2. Stir Bisquick mix, orange peel and orange juice until soft dough forms; beat vigorously 30 seconds.
  3. Place dough on surface sprinkled with Bisquick mix; roll in Bisquick mix to coat.
  4. Shape into a ball; knead 10 times. Roll 1/2 inch thick.
  5. Cut with 2 1/2-inch round cutter dipped in Bisquick mix.
  6. Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
  7. Stir together cream cheese and preserves.
  8. Spoon about 1 teaspoon cream cheese mixture onto center of each dough circle.
  9. Sprinkle with sugar, if desired.
  10. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until golden brown.
  11. Serve warm.

Makes 15 biscuits

Substitution: Use whatever flavor preserves you desire.
