Cherry Nut Bread
Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour, sifted
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 cup nuts, chopped
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 teaspoon almond flavoring
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup maraschino cherries, cut up
- 1 1/2 cups maraschino cherry juice
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
Instructions
- Sift dry ingredients together into medium bowl.
- Add nuts and cherries; mix well.
- Beat eggs, juice, water, vegetable oil and almond flavoring in small bowl.
- Add liquid ingredients to dry ingredients and stir only until dry ingredients are dampened.
- Pour into lined loaf pan and bake at 350 degrees F for 40 to 45 minutes.
- Remove from pan and carefully peel off paper. Cool before slicing.
