Cinnamon Loaf
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup sour cream
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons dried orange peel
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
Instructions
- Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 9 x 5 inch loaf pan.
- Beat butter and the 1 cup sugar in large bowl until fluffy.
- Add eggs and vanilla extract. Beat until blended.
- Add sour cream and milk; blend at low speed, mix well.
- In small bowl, stir together the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Add to the butter mixture, beating well.
- In another small bowl, mix together the 1/2 cup sugar, cinnamon and orange peel. Set aside 1/4 of this mixture for topping.
- Spoon half of the batter into the loaf pan.
- Sprinkle the cinnamon mixture over batter.
- Spoon remaining batter over top. Cut through the batter and cinnamon mixture with spatula to form swirls.
- Sprinkle remaining cinnamon mixture over top of loaf.
- Bake for 60 minutes or until wooden pick inserted into loaf comes out clean.
- Cool for 10 minutes before removing from pan.
