Moist and Chewy Banana Bread

Ingredients

  • 2 to 3 very ripe bananas
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 tablespoons buttermilk
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

Instructions

  1. Cream together shortening and sugar.
  2. Add eggs and bananas.
  3. Mix and add the dry ingredients, alternating with the milk.
  4. Place the mixture into a well-greased loaf pan and bake at 350 degrees F for approximately 50 minutes.
