Colorado Coffee Cake
Ingredients
Cake
- 1/4 cup butter
- 8 ounces cream cheese
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Topping
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 3 teaspoons cinnamon
- Chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
- Cake: In a large mixing bowl cream together butter, cream cheese, sugar and eggs.
- In a medium bowl sift together flour, baking powder, salt and baking soda.
- In a third smaller bowl combine the milk and vanilla extract.
- Add milk mixture to creamed butter mixture, stirring constantly until well blended.
- Add flour mixture to creamed ingredients, blending for 3 minutes or until well mixed. Spoon mixture
into 3 greased and floured round 8-inch cake pans.
- Topping: Mix all ingredients together and sprinkle over dough mixture in each of 3 loaf pans.
- Bake cakes at 350 degrees F for 20 minutes.
Notes
Delicious hot or cold.
