Honey Custard French Toast

Yield: 6 servings

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1 cup milk
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 12 slices French bread, each 3/4 inch thick
  • Butter
  • Honey and toasted pecan pieces for garnish, as desired

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, beat honey, milk, eggs, cinnamon and salt. Dip bread slices into egg mixture, turning to coat.
  2. Melt a little butter in a large skillet over medium heat and brown soaked slices, turning once to brown second side.
  3. Serve with additional honey and sprinkle with pecans, as desired.
