Orange-Whipped French Toast
Yield: 2 to 4 servings
Ingredients
- 3 eggs, separated and at room temperature
- 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk
- Salt and cinnamon to taste
- Drop of orange extract
- 1-2 tablespoons butter
- 6 slices French bread (or your favorite bread)
Instructions
- Whip egg white to soft peaks. Add sugar and whip to stiff peaks.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg yolks, milk, salt, cinnamon and orange extract. Fold into the egg mixture.
- Heat a saucepan with butter. Dip bread into egg mixture. Place in saucepan and fry until golden, turn and fry the other side until golden.
- Serve sprinkled with orange zest, if desired.
