Yield: about 5 cups batter

Ingredients

  • 3 cups sifted all-purpose flour
  • 5 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 1/4 cups milk
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2/3 cup butter

Instructions

  1. Sift flour with baking powder, salt and sugar into a large bowl.
  2. With electric mixer at medium speed, beat eggs for 1 minute.
  3. Add milk and vanilla extract. Add milk-egg mixture to dry ingredients; beat only until well blended. Add butter; beat until blended.
  4. Bake in preheated waffle iron.
