One Bowl Chocolate Frosting

Yield: 3 cups or enough to frost top and sides of 2 (8 or 9 inch) layers, top and sides of a 13 x 9 inch cake, tops of 3 (8 or 9 inch) layers, or 18 to 24 cupcakes

Ingredients

  • 1 package (8 squares) semisweet baking chocolate
  • 1 (16 ounce) package confectioners' sugar
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Microwave baking chocolate in large micro-safe bowl on HIGH for 2 minutes.
  2. Stir until chocolate is completely melted.
  3. Cool for 5 minutes or to room temperature.
  4. Add confectioners' sugar, butter and vanilla extract. Beat with electric mixer on low speed until well blended.
  5. Gradually add milk, beating until well blended.
