Chocolate Lover's Cake
Ingredients
- 1 (18.25 ounce) box devil's food cake mix*
- 1 (3 ounce) package instant chocolate pudding mix
- 2 cups sour cream
- 1 cup melted butter
- 5 eggs
- 1 teaspoon almond extract
- 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Heat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 10-inch Bundt pan.
- In a large bowl, stir together cake mix and pudding mix.
- Make a well in the center and pour in sour cream, melted butter, eggs and almond extract. Beat on low speed until blended. Scrape bowl, and beat 4 minutes on medium speed.
- Blend in chocolate chips.
- Pour batter into prepared pan.
- Bake in preheated oven for 50 to 55 minutes.
- Let cool in pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack and cool completely.
Notes
* 18.25 ounce boxes of cake mix have been replaced by 16.5 ounce and 15.25 ounce boxes. To compensate for the volume loss in a 16 ounce box, whisk 6 tablespoons all-purpose flour into the dry cake mix before proceeding with the recipe. To compensate for the volume loss in a 15.25 ounce box, add 1/2 cup + 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour and 1/4 teaspoon baking powder.
