Comfort Cake




  • 1 (18.25 ounce) Duncan Hines Yellow Cake Mix
  • 1 small box instant vanilla pudding
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 cup cold water
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
  • 1/2 cup Southern Comfort


  • 4 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 1/8 cup water
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup Southern Comfort


  1. Combine all ingredients; pour into greased and floured 10-inch tube or 12-cup Bundt pan.
  2. Bake at 325 degrees F for one hour.
  3. Set on rack to cool.
  4. Invert on serving plate. Prick top. Immediately drizzle and brush half of glaze evenly over top and sides. Reserve half of glaze.
  5. After cake has cooled, reheat remaining glaze and brush it evenly over cake.
  6. Glaze: Melt butter in saucepan. Stir in water and sugar. Boil for 3 minutes, stirring constantly.
  7. Remove from heat and stir in Southern Comfort.
