Cream Soda Cake

You may use any flavor of soda that you wish. Another good combination is Sprite and lemon Jell-O.

Ingredients

Cake

• 1 (18.25 ounce) box yellow cake mix*
• 1 cup boiling water
• 1 small box strawberry Jell-O
• 1 can cream soda

Icing

• 1 cup milk
• 1 small box instant vanilla pudding
• 1 small container Cool Whip

Instructions

Cake

1. Bake cake mix according to package instructions.
2. After cake is done, use cup of boiling water with Jell-O and cream soda, then punch holes in cake with a fork. Pour mixture over cake.

Icing

1. Mix milk, pudding and Cool Whip. Blend well, spread on cake.

Notes

* 18.25 ounce boxes of cake mix have been replaced by 16.5 ounce and 15.25 ounce boxes. To compensate for the volume loss in a 16 ounce box, whisk 6 tablespoons all-purpose flour into the dry cake mix before proceeding with the recipe. To compensate for the volume loss in a 15.25 ounce box, add 1/2 cup + 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour and 1/4 teaspoon baking powder.
