Easy Champagne Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 (18.25 ounce) box French Vanilla or white cake mix*
  • 2 envelopes Dream Whip
  • 4 egg whites
  • 1 whole egg
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 1/4 cups champagne**

Instructions

  1. Let champagne go flat before using.
  2. Beat all ingredients together in mixer for 3 minutes.
  3. Pour into greased and floured*** pans and bake according to cake mix directions, until it tests done.

Notes

* 18.25 ounce boxes of cake mix have been replaced by 16.5 ounce and 15.25 ounce boxes. To compensate for the volume loss in a 16 ounce box, whisk 6 tablespoons all-purpose flour into the dry cake mix before proceeding with the recipe. To compensate for the volume loss in a 15.25 ounce box, add 1/2 cup + 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour and 1/4 teaspoon baking powder.

** You can use pink champagne and a small amount of pink food color to make it a pink champagne cake.

*** For best results, use our Pan Release!
