Strawberry Ooey Gooey Butter Cake



  • 1 (18.25 ounce) box strawberry cake mix
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 4 large eggs, divided
  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 pound confectioners' sugar
  • 3/4 cup chopped fresh strawberries
  • Garnish: sweetened whipped cream, strawberries


  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly grease a 9 x 13-inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, combine cake mix, butter and 1 egg.
  3. Press mixture into bottom of prepared pan.
  4. In a separate large bowl, beat cream cheese and 3 eggs at medium speed with an electric mixer until smooth.
  5. Gradually beat in confectioners' sugar until combined.
  6. Stir in strawberries.
  7. Spoon mixture over cake mixture.
  8. Bake for 25-40 minutes or until center is set.
  9. Cool completely; cut into squares to serve.
  10. Garnish with sweetened whipped cream and strawberries, if desired.
