Praline Brownies

Ingredients

Brownies

  • 1 box Duncan Hines milk chocolate chunk brownie mix
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1/3 cup Crisco oil
  • 3/4 cup chopped pecans

Topping

  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 3/4 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine, melted
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 9-inch square pan.
  2. Brownies: Combine brownie mix, eggs, water, oil and 3/4 cup pecans in large bowl. Stir with spoon until well blended, about 50 strokes.
  3. Spread in pan.
  4. Bake for 35-40 minutes.
  5. Remove from oven, spread with topping.
  6. Topping: Combine brown sugar, 3/4 cup pecans, melted butter, milk and vanilla extract in small bowl. Stir with spoon until well blended.
  7. Spread over hot brownies and return to oven.
  8. Bake 15 more minutes or until topping is set.
  9. Cool completely.
  10. Cut into bars.

Yield: 16 brownies
