Easy Peach Dessert
Yield: 12 servings
Ingredients
- 3 1/2 cups sliced peaches (sprinkle with a little sugar to bring out some juice) or use 1 (29 ounce) can sliced peaches
- 1 (18.25 ounce) box butter pecan cake mix* (or French vanilla)
- 3/4 cup melted butter
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
- Flaked coconut
- 8 ounces whipped cream
Instructions
- Heat oven to 350 degrees F.
- Cut the peaches into chunks. Pour peaches and juice into 9 x 13 inch baking pan.
- Sprinkle the cake mix over the peaches.
- Drizzle with the butter.
- Sprinkle on the nuts.
- Sprinkle on the coconut.
- Bake for 35 minutes.
- Serve warm or cold. Top with whipped cream.
Notes
* 18.25 ounce boxes of cake mix have been replaced by 16.5 ounce and 15.25 ounce boxes. To compensate for the volume loss in a 16 ounce box, whisk 6 tablespoons all-purpose flour into the dry cake mix before proceeding with the recipe. To compensate for the volume loss in a 15.25 ounce box, add 1/2 cup + 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour and 1/4 teaspoon baking powder.
