Pecan Pie

Ingredients

Crust

  • 1 (18.25 ounce) box yellow cake mix
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
  • 1 egg

Filling

  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups light corn syrup
  • 2/3 cup yellow cake mix
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup nuts

Instructions

  1. Crust: Heat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Set aside 2/3 cup of the cake mix for use in the filling.
  3. Melt butter, then stir in cake mix and egg.
  4. Bake for 15 minutes.
  5. Filling: Mix all ingredients except nuts for 3 minutes at medium speed of electric mixer.
  6. Add nuts and pour into baked pie crust.
  7. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes.
