Butternut Pound Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) butter
  • 1 cup Crisco
  • 3 cups granulated sugar
  • 6 eggs
  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon butternut flavoring

Instructions

  1. Beat butter and Crisco well.
  2. Add sugar and continue to cream.
  3. Add eggs, one at a time and continue to mix.
  4. Add flour, baking powder and salt alternately with buttermilk and flavoring. Begin with dry ingredients and end with dry ingredients.
  5. Bake in a greased and floured tube pan for 1 1/2 hours at 300 degrees F.
  6. Frost with your favorite frosting.
