Caramel Nut Pound Cake

Ingredients

Cake

  • 4 sticks butter
  • 1 box brown sugar
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 5 eggs
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1 cup chopped nuts

Glaze

  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 325 degrees F. Grease well and flour a Bundt Pan.
  2. Cake: Cream first 3 ingredients.
  3. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  4. Combine dry ingredients and add alternating with 1 cup milk and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract.
  5. Put 2/3 batter into prepared pan.
  6. Add mixture of 1/4 cup sugar, 2 teaspoons cinnamon and 1 cup chopped nuts.
  7. Cover with remaining batter.
  8. Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
  9. Glaze: Boil 1 minute. Add 3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract and enough confectioners' sugar to make a glaze.
