Chocolate Chip Crater Cake



  • 2 cups biscuit baking mix
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Topping Mix

  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup packed dark brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup biscuit baking mix
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon


  1. Cake: Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease an 8-inch square baking pan.
  2. In mixer bowl combine biscuit mix, sugar, milk, egg and vanilla extract; beat on low speed until moistened. Beat 2 minutes on medium speed until smooth.
  3. Pour 1/2 of batter into a prepared pan. Sprinkle chocolate chips over batter.
  4. Top with remaining batter, completely covering chips. Sprinkle Topping Mix evenly over batter.
  5. Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until top springs back when touched lightly.
  6. Topping Mix: Combine all ingredients in a small bowl.
