Cream Cheese Sheet Cake



  • 1 cup plus 2 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 6 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 2 1/4 cups granulated sugar
  • 6 eggs
  • 3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups cake flour


  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup evaporated milk
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips


  1. Cake: Cream butter, sugar and cream cheese. Add eggs one at a time beating well after each addition. Beat in vanilla extract. Add flour and mix well. Pour into 15 x 10 x 1 inch jellyroll pan.
  2. Bake at 325 degrees F for 30-35 minutes.
  3. Cool completely.
  4. Frosting: Combine sugar and milk in saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Cover and cook for 3 minutes (don’t stir!) Stir in butter and chocolate chips until melted – cool slightly. Stir and spread over cake.
