Granny Cake
Ingredients
Cake
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 (16 ounce) can crushed pineapple with juice
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
Topping
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup pecans, chopped
Glaze
- 1 (5 ounce) can evaporated milk
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Cake: Mix dry ingredients.
- Add eggs and pineapple; mix thoroughly and pour into greased 13 x 9-inch pan.
- Topping: Mix together and sprinkle on top of cake.
- Bake at 350 degrees F for 40 to 45 minutes.
- Glaze: Mix ingredients in a saucepan and bring to a boil.
- Pour over cake while still hot.
