Mandarin Chocolate Candy
Yield: about 4 dozen
Ingredients
- 1 cup sweetened condensed milk
- 4 (1 ounce) squares unsweetened chocolate
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 1/2 cups flaked sweetened coconut
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans
- 1 1/2 teaspoons orange extract
Instructions
- Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly grease 2 baking sheets.
- In a heavy saucepan, combine the milk, chocolate and salt and cook over low heat, stirring frequently, until the chocolate melts and the mixture thickens.
- Remove pan from the heat and quickly stir in the coconut, pecans and orange extract.
- Form the mixture into small balls (about a teaspoonful of the mixture) and place on the prepared baking sheets.
- Bake until the candies are firm, 6 to 7 minutes.
- Immediately transfer the candies to wax paper to cool.
- Store in an airtight container.
