Orange Chocolate Nut Truffles


  • 3 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
  • 2 cups confectioners' sugar
  • 2/3 cup heavy cream
  • 4 tablespoons orange juice
  • 2 teaspoons orange zest
  • 2 cups chopped walnuts


  1. Melt chocolate chips in 4 tablespoons water in top of double boiler over hot, but not boiling, water, stirring frequently. Turn chocolate into medium bowl. Add sugar, cream, orange juice and orange zest; stir until combined. Beat to mix well.
  2. Place plastic wrap directly on surface; refrigerate overnight.
  3. Place a sheet of wax paper on a damp surface; sprinkle walnuts on wax paper.
  4. Drop chocolate by teaspoonsful onto walnuts. Roll to cover completely.
  5. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
