Apple Relish

Ingredients

  • 12 red bell peppers
  • 12 green bell peppers
  • 12 medium apples
  • 6 onions
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon cloves
  • 1 pint vinegar
  • 1 pint sugar

Instructions

  1. Grind coarsely peppers, apples and onions. Sprinkle salt generously. Cover with boiling water and let stand 1 hour; drain well.
  2. Bring vinegar, sugar and spices to a boil. Add apple mixture and boil 10 minutes.
  3. Seal in clean hot jars.
