Asparagus-Almond Casserole

Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 medium cans asparagus
  • 1 1/2 cups grated cheese
  • 1/2 cup slivered almonds
  • Cracker crumbs
  • Butter

Instructions

  1. Melt 4 tablespoons butter. Add flour, salt and pepper until blended. Add milk. Place a layer of drained asparagus, half the cheese, half the almonds and half the sauce. Repeat once more. Sprinkle with crumbs and dots of butter.
  2. Bake at 375 degrees F for 20 to 25 minutes.
