Dallas BBQ Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 cup onion
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup red wine vinegar
  • 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 teaspoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon prepared mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon liquid hot pepper sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Combine ingredients in a saucepan, over a medium flame bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer for 1 to 2 hours, until reduced by about one-third and thickened remove from heat.
  2. Puree in food processor or strain out onion, cool, cover and chill for 4-6 hours.
